About Ken

I have had the incredible opportunity to enjoy a performing career, and the only thing I love more than being on stage myself is seeing my students there singing, dancing, and acting out their dreams.

I have over 22 years of professional performing experience.  I became a member of Actors Equity Association (AEA) in 1978, which gave me the chance to work in numerous professional productions.

My voice training began with a Bachelor of Music degree in voice from the University of Mississippi. There, I played Tony in “The Boyfriend”, Russian dancer in “Fiddler on the Roof”, and sang in “Faust” and “Carmen”.

My dancing began with a scholarship with the Dance Theater Workshop in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  From there it was training in New York and Los Angeles, where I became a member of the Los Angeles Dance Company.

On the west coast, I have entertained audiences at the ‘Lido’ in Las Vegas, ‘The Nugget’ in Reno, and ‘The All Star Review’ in Palm Springs.

Out of New York, I have worked with wonderful directors and choreographers, performing in the Broadway National tour of “Woman of the Year” with Barbara Eden, “Hello Dolly” with Jo Ann Whorley, “The Wiz” with Irene Cara, “South Pacific” with Michelle Lee, “Student Prince” with Jack Gilford, “Can Can” with John Phillip Law, “Where’s Charlie” with Kittie Carlisle and “Chicago” with Robert Mandan.

While living in Atlanta, I performed at Theater of the Stars (TOTS)- “The Sound of Music” with Shirley Jones and “My Fair Lady’ with Victoria Mallory. At the Alliance Regional Theater – “Music Man”, “A Little Night Music”, “Mame”, “Cabaret”, “Watergate the Musical” and “Brigadoon”. Cabaret performances include: “Changes”, “Play It Again”, and “Remember That”. I was also Artistic Director of the ‘Whirlwind Dance Company’.

And for 6 years, I performed on several luxurious cruise lines, taking me around the world. Where I performed my own solo cabaret show and was a lead singer in the production shows.
